Abstract (EN)

The rapid increase in the world's population not only causes destructions on natural resources and the environment but also raises problems in terms of access to food and food safety. Weeds are one of the factors that limit chickpea cultivation, which has an important place in adequate and quality nutrition, has wide adaptability, can be grown in many climates and is not selective in terms of soil demand, and result in yield losses. In this study a survey was conducted to determine the species, frequency, and density of the weeds in chickpeas cultivation areas in the province of Uşak and survey study was conducted to determine the knowledge and experiences of producers concerning cultivation and weed control and field study was conducted to evaluate the effects of herbicides with different active substances applied in pre-emergence and post emergence. As a result of the survey, Convolvulus arvensis L. frequency first among the weeds determined in the chickpea cultivation area with a frequenced of 84 %; while 54 % of the producers stated that weeds are an important problem among plant protection problems, they stated that 87.40 % Avena barbata Pott ex Link subsp. barbata and 46.60 % of Sinapis arvensis L. are the most important species. In the experimental area Amaranthus retroflexus, Chondrilla juncea, Chenopodium album and Polygonum aviculare were recorded as dense species. In the control of the species, differences were obtained depending on the pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides and their doses.
