Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate whether sleep deficiency has an effect on sports performance and recovery. The study was conducted on 14 male students. Participants were subjected to balance, speed, pass, shooting and dribbling tests after 2, 4 and 8 hours sleep periods and recovery times were determined after the tests. To determine differences between groups in normal distributed data, repeated measurements were evaluated Repeated Measures Anova, and Bonferroni correction was used to determine at which measurement times the differences originate. In this study, the level of significance was determined as p <0.05 and analyzes were performed using SPSS 22 for Windows. No statistically significant difference was found between the groups in terms of balance, speed, pass, shot and dribbling test values. There was a statistically significant difference in recovery heart rate and recovery time values after the tests. As a result, sleep deprivation caused prolonged recovery.
