Change detection by using remote sensing and gis in plateau areas: A case of Gümüşhane

Remote Sensing and GIS technology with temporal and spatial changes related to long intervals of time, it is possible to obtain information. Nowadays, satellite images and aerial photographs to follow these changes and solutions to the problems that arise as a result of changes in the production is an important source.In this study, aerial photographs and satellite images from different time periods in Gümüşhane relating to the evaluation of the study area designated as 4 plateaus and 2 in the villages was to determine the temporal and spatial variation. The study area belongs to the black-white aerial photographs covering 1982 to 2011, and the high-resolution WORLDVIEW-2 satellite image has been obtained; land cover, road and building details in defining and classifying Gümüşhane province belongs to the CORINE land cover classification system manufactured from 2006 land cover data layer and 1/25 000 scale standard topographic map was benefited. In the study carried out using visual assessment techniques created with GIS data to the database by entering the appropriate changes were analyzed and the results are discussed. In proportional increase and decrease related to class; Gümüşhane area owned by the rugged terrain, the local people many economic limitations due to outward migration, highland areas for recreation people wanting to use where certain construction activities such elements to be effective has been concluded.With this study, plateaus and villages in Gümüşhane in relation to planning and shed light on the important work to be done to obtain information and is intended to create a base for the planning and operation.
