Abstract (EN)
The Theology Associate Degree Programs, offered through open and distance learning at the higher education level, provide religious education and aim to establish a foundational base for professional growth in the field of theology. These programs address the needs of individuals interested in receiving religious education while also contributing to their vocational development. This study examines the career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) of students enrolled in associate degree theology programs and their perceptions of the curriculum. It evaluates participants' self-assessed levels of career decision-making competence and explores how the program supports their post-graduation career aspirations. Quantitative data were collected using the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale and a Personal Information Form. The study sample consisted of 622 theology associate degree students (431 female, 191 male). The results indicated that students generally perceived themselves as having a high level of career decision-making self-efficacy. Qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews conducted with 15 participants. Thematic analysis of the interviews revealed a multifaceted perspective on the program, particularly in terms of students' academic experiences, skill development, and how effectively the curriculum aligns with their graduation goals. Overall, findings suggest that the program enhances students' religious and professional knowledge and supports their transition into future careers. Additionally, the flexible structure of distance education appears to be a valuable tool for individuals pursuing academic, professional, and personal objectives.
