Abstract (EN)
The use of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials in the aviation industry has been widespread today. In such composite materials, it is very difficult to obtain the mechanical and thermal properties calculated in theory in practical engineering applications with the desired efficiency. One of them is thermal conductivity throughout the thickness. The use of thermosetting resins and the lack of good thermal conductivity between layers seem to be two inherent barriers to a reduction in the temperature operating range of composite materials. This study aims to increase the through-thethickness thermal conductivity of CFRP composite materials at no expense of their ultimate mechanical properties. For this purpose, twill carbon fabric preforms were consolidated with hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) added thermoplastic polyamide. In the atomic direction (002) of h-BNs, there occurs a high thermal conductivity that can be imparted to the surrounding matrix into which they are embedded. In the light of this information, Van der Waals bonds between the layers of h-BNs were aimed to be broken, thus turning then into H-BN nanolayer(h-BNNS). 0.5% by weight h-BNNS was added to make it suitable for spinning. The composite parts were produced by the SCRIMP, a derivative of a vacuum infusion, utilizing a room temperature epoxy resin as a matrix material. Analysis of h-BNNS powders was performed using X-ray diffraction, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy. The mechanical, thermomechanical, and thermal properties characterization of the obtained composite parts; Three-Point Bending, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis, Thermogravimetric Analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Laser Flash Analysis, Modified Transient Plane Source, Optical Microscope and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
