Abstract (EN)
This study aims to explore the extent of difficulties in emotion regulation, burnout, and life satisfaction among individuals working in shift systems. The study utilized a correlational design and involved a sample of 321 adult volunteers working in a shift system. Data were collected using four distinct instruments. The first was the Personal Information Form, which gathered demographic information such as gender, age, seniority, occupation, and socio-economic status. The second instrument was the Adult Life Satisfaction Scale, used to measure participants' levels of life satisfaction. The third instrument was the Burnout Measure-Short Version which assessed burnout levels, and the fourth was the Turkish Version of Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-Brief Form (DERS-16), which measured emotion regulation difficulties. The research data were gathered through forms completed voluntarily by the participants themselvesThe data were processed and examined using SPSS software. Pearson correlation analysis, t-tests, and ANOVA tests were employed for interpretation, with a significance level set at 0.05. Normality of data distribution was evaluated using kurtosis and skewness values, which were found to fall within the range of -1 to +1, indicating a normal distribution. The findings indicated a significant association between emotion regulation difficulties and burnout levels, a negative correlation between emotion regulation difficulties and life satisfaction, and a negative relationship between life satisfaction and burnout levels. Additionally, burnout levels were identified as a significant determinant of life satisfaction. When examined in terms of demographic factors, life satisfaction levels varied significantly based on age and socio-economic status. Keywords: Shift Work System, Emotion Regulation Difficulty, Burnout, Life Satisfaction.
