Abstract (EN)

We planed this study to evaluate the morphometric measurements of the atlantic (V3) segment and intracranial (V4) segment of the arteria vertebralis (AV) and correlate V3 and V4 with peripheral structures by using 3 Dimensional Computed Tomography Angioraphy (3DCTA) scans. 200 cases were selected from head-neck 3DCTA examination at the Department of Radiology in Ege University between 2014 January - 2017 January. All the 3DCTA images were recorded. The courses of V3-4 were observed and measured. V3 and V4 segments were demonstrated in a cadaver. 112 case were male and 88 case were female. Minimum age was 17 and maximum age was 89. We measured the distance between tuberculum anterius and tuberculum posterius in the midline of atlas (C1) at the axial plan by using 3DCTA images. We measured the distance between the medial and lateral wall of foramen transversarium (foramen transversarium) at C1. We measured the length and diameter of right and left V3 and V4 segments. The prevelance of ponticulus posticus was 14.5% (29 case). 48.2% (14 case) of these cases were bilateraly ponticulus posticus. In a female case we found a right intersegmental artery (0.5%). We determined an aneurysm at the proximal of the left V4 segment in a female case (9.8 mm x 7.6 mm) (0.5%). We determined a fusion anomaly of os occipitale and C1 at the right side of a female case (0.5%). In six case (3%), right and left V4 segments of AV didn't join together to form the basillar artery. We detected two vertebrobasilar dolichoectasia in a female and in a male case (1%).
