Abstract (EN)
In this thesis study, the self-efficacy and coping methods of volleyball referees have been examined. Within this scope, a literature review and the use of referee self- efficacy scale and various stress measurement scales have been employed. Thus, it aims to scientifically illustrate the difficulties experienced by volleyball referees who assist us by recognizing the importance of sports in our lives. Volleyball referees play a crucial role in ensuring fair play and maintaining the integrity of the game. However, the pressure and stress associated with refereeing can adversely affect their mental well-being. Examining the self-efficacy levels and coping approaches of volleyball referees is important in understanding how they can perform best on the field. Self-efficacy, a concept proposed by psychologist Albert Bandura, refers to an individual's belief in their ability to successfully perform a specific task or achieve a desired outcome. In the context of volleyball refereeing, self-efficacy can influence the referee's confidence in making difficult decisions, handling disputes with players and coaches, and managing the demands of the game. Research has shown that referees with high levels of self-efficacy are more likely to demonstrate better decision-making skills, communication skills, and overall job performance.
