Abstract (EN)

This study was planned to investigate the effect of core stabilization on dynamic balance, functional alignment of trunk and knee in licensed volleyball players. In this research, 65 adolescent women volleyball players joined (15.05 ± 0.99 age, 170.55 ± 8.41 cm, 59.35 ± 7.86 kg). The demographic information and descriptive data of the athletes were questioned. Trunk stabilization with; postural control test of the trunk, anterior plank test, lateral plank test, reverse plank test, dynamic balance with; star excursion balance test, and functional alignment of knee and trunk with; single leg squat test were evaluated. A positive significant correlation was found between postural control test of the trunk and the results of star excursion balance test and lateral plank test (p<0.05). A negative significant correlation was found between the results of the postural control test of the trunk (right lateral, right posterior and left anterior directions) and the reverse plank test (p<0.05). No statistically significant correlation was found between the results of the postural control test of the trunk and the functional alignment angles of the trunk and knee (p>0.05). A positive significant correlation was found between plank tests and star excursion balance test (right posterior, left medial and left posterolateral aspects) results (p<0.05). No significant correlation was found between plank tests and star excursion balance test (anterior, lateral, anteromedial, anterolateral and right posterolateral aspects) results (p>0.05). A negative significant correlation was found between the results of the reverse plank test and star excursion balance test (right posteromedial) and lateral trunk motion angle results (p<0.05). A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the results of star excursion balance test (right anterior, right lateral, right anterolateral, left anteromedial, left posteromedial and left posterior directions) and lateral trunk motion angle (p<0.05). It was determined that the dynamic balance of the athletes with good trunk postural control and lateral trunk stabilization were also high. It was found that those with good dynamic balance had lower lateral trunk deviations during the one-leg squat. It was concluded that there was no correlation between trunk stabilization and lower extremity alignment.
