Abstract (EN)
Aluminum alloys and composites are widely used in the aerospace industry due to their high strength-to-weight ratios. However, their relatively low hardness values result in poor wear resistance. In this study, a hybrid composite material was produced using the vortex casting method. To enhance the wear resistance of the composites, Al2O3 and SiCp particles were added to the Al2024 matrix material, which is commonly used in the aerospace industry, at proportions of 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%. After the produced samples were subjected to a T4 aging process, a vibratory peening technique was applied to their surfaces. Then, the samples were subjected to mechanical and tribological tests and microstructure examinations. The results of the tests revealed that the vibratory peening process had a significant impact on the wear resistance of the samples.
