Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, solutions of the drinking water distribution networks are analyzed using Netcad/Water and Netcad/Water 2005 modules of the Netcad software. Most of small size drinking water distribution networks in rural areas are designed by using Netcad / water module, but most of large size drinking water distribution networks in cities are designed by using Netcad/water 2005 moduleAs an application, drinking water network of Hacıağalar town, which is a small city managed by the Rural Service of Kahramanmaraş city, is solved both as Branched (Open) and Looped (Closed) drinking water network systems. Result of Branched (Open) drinking water network and Looped (Closed) drinking water network are compared. The same network is also analyzed by using Netcad/water 2005 module. It is seen that Netcad/Water 2005 module is superior to Netcad/Water module with respect to optimal network design. The diameter of pipes obtained by using Netcad/Water and Netcad/Water 2005 are compared. It is found that overall pipe costs of the solution obtained by Netcad/water 2005 are more economical than the solution obtained by Netcad/water.Keywords: Design of Water distribution Networks, Branched network, Looped network, Dead Point method, Hardy Cross method
