Abstract (EN)

The need for the industry is increasing rapidly with each passing day. Consequently, it is typically requiring the use of automated systems that are operable without human intervention to improve the quality and reduce costs. Therefore, automation systems are used in almost all industrial applications. Automation systems consist of combined use of high-cost equipment such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Human–Machine Interface (HMI). In particular, SCADA and HMI applications increase the system cost. Furthermore, the operating system and SCADA Runtime licenses are an additional cost. Some problems may occur depending on operating conditions because of the computer in the PC-based SCADA systems. Recently, some solutions have been achieved with very low cost thanks to ARM (Advanced Risc Machine) based cards operated with Linux operating system which are released by some companies. These devices have quite small size and low price when compared to standard computers. In addition, the ARM-based devices have some advantages such as open-source hardware/software. Their prices are almost five percent lower than a PC. These products can be used reliable in many applications not requiring high performance. In this thesis, ARM-based automation system has been developed that can be used in small-scale industrial applications. Thus, a single device can provide the control of the system without SCADA, PC and PLC devices. In addition, a WEB-based automation system is obtained with low cost and providing access to other devices thanks to WEB-based.
