Abstract (EN)

In this work, a design of a MIMO antenna array is proposed for 5G communication systems. The proposed individual antenna element is constructed of H-geometry. The proposed antenna is oriented to suit the frequency bands of new radio (NR) n77, n78, and n79 with an excellent matching coefficient. When the proposed antenna located in an array configuration, an excellent isolation is achieved below -15dB over the entire frequency bands of interest. For that, four elements are oriented on a rectangular FR-4 substrate to obtain an excellent size reduction of 13.4mm×6mm×0.75mm. The MIMO array`s radiation efficiency is found to be in the range of 70% to 88% within the frequency band of interest. The antenna gain is found to be in maximum of 5dBi at 4.5GHz. The maximum correlation factor between the antenna elements in terms of ECC is found below 0.004 for the entire frequency band. The radiation patterns are found to be scattered to different direction at different frequencies to fit the portable communication 5G devices. The proposed work is optimized using HFSS and validated using CST MWS. From the obtained results in terms of S-parameters and radiation patterns, the antenna shows an excellent radiation properties and enhanced bandwidth. The obtained results from both CST and HFSS agreed well to each other. Keywords: H-Shape, Antenna, NR-bands, 5G, MIMO, Array, CST MWS, HFSS.
