Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, medium and high voltage power cables are firstly discussed with respect to design, production stages together with the various insulation materials employed. Then, in order to analyze the field distribution within the single phase and three phase power cables a simple model is developed and employed using Matlab Codes. The model is applied to various cable types with single and multiple insulation layers and the results are discussed comparing the critical field magnitudes developed within the cables considering shielded cases as well.
