Abstract (EN)

The subject matter of our study is the letters that King of France Louis XV sent to the Ottoman sultans and grand viziers between 1715-1774. The study, which discussed source constitute letters for the Ottoman-French relations, planned in four sections. The importance of Nâme-i Hümâyûn and Nâme-i Hümâyûn Books is expressed in the introduction part. In addition, previous studies on Nâme-i Hümâyûns and an explanation about this study we have conducted are provided. In the second part, first, the biography of Louis XV was included and then the relations between the Ottoman Empire and France were addressed in two parts as the period from the beginning until the era of Louis XV and as the era of Louis XV. In the third section, Summaries of the letters sent by Louis XV to the Ottoman sultans and grand viziers are provided in tables. In the fourth part, transcriptions of the documents are included. Finally, a general assessment was made. Words whose pronunciation could not be sure were marked with a (?) sign, while words that were considered to be missing in the sentence were provided within the [ ] sign. The images of the transcribed documents are present in the appendices section of our study.
