However, habitat fragmentation and loss on wildlife, barrier effect limiting wildlife movements and gene flow, material-spiritual accidents with human-animal mortal / injuries, disturbance of wildlife habitats along the way by noise, light and food sources, hiding and problems in access to nesting areas. Wildlife transitions are defined as an important solution to reduce these problems on wildlife. In this study, the problems created by highways on wildlife and wildlife transitions as solution suggestions are given in detail by giving examples from the world and our country and some planning and design principles are put forward. In the light of this information, the assessment of landscape ecology was made on the Northern Marmara Motorway, which was selected as the study area, and suggestions were made for wildlife transitions in the study area.
