Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is aimed to determine target prospecting areas by geostatistical methods using sediment geochemistry for precious and base metals in Yağmurdere (Gümüşhane, NE Türkiye) and its surroundings, and to narrow the anomaly areas with the help of soil and rock geochemistry, to plot element distribution maps of the area and to determine suitable drilling sites by considering all these data. Between 2014-2021, field studies were done and the geological/geochemical characteristics of the field were determined. 191 sediment, 869 soil and 379 rock samples were analyzed at the General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) Mine Analysis Technology Department for Cu, Pb, Zn, Mo, As, Sb, Ag, Au, Co, Ni, Bi and V for determining the mineralization/element enrichment in the field. The results were evaluated with different statistical methods, regional and local threshold values were determined for each element. In addition, element distribution (anomaly) maps were plotted by using the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method, for each element, and 14 exploration drillings were done in 4 different locations by MTA for its metallic mineral exploration project by using these maps. From the drill core samples, sericitic-phyllic alteration zones in were determined by XRD studies, and enriched ore minerals zones such as pyrite, rutile and fahlerz were determined by ore microscopy studies. It has been revealed that the anomaly regions in the element distribution maps obtained by using geochemical data in the target regions and plotted by geostatistical methods are related to the mineralization in the study area.
