Abstract (EN)
Earthquakes have caused a lot of loss of life and property since the past. In order to minimize the possible losses that may occur as a result of earthquakes, it is necessary to define the characteristic features of earthquakes and their effects on structures correctly. As a result of the studies, it has been seen that the records obtained from the earthquakes that occurred in the regions close to the faults in the recent period contain significant differences compared to the records obtained far from the fault. Ground movements occurring close to the fault expose the structure to a large amount of energy at the beginning of the ground movements, causing great ductility demands. In this study, the effect of near-fault ground motion characteristics (PGA, PGV/PGA, impact duration) on the seismic performance of multi-storey buildings with different flooring systems was investigated. For this purpose, time history analysis of four thirty-story buildings with different flooring systems was carried out by selecting near fault ground motions with different characteristics. Within the scope of the study, the first chapter is divided into introductory sentences. In the second part, general information about earthquakes is given. While the information about the carrier systems and flooring systems used in high-rise buildings is included in the third section, information about the near fault ground movements is included in the fourth section. In the fifth section, the applications made within the scope of the study are included, while the results of the application are examined in the sixth section. In the last part, the sources used in the study process are presented. The results obtained as a result of the study show that near fault ground motions cause more displacement, relative storey drift and storey shear values in structures compared to far fault ground motions.
