Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Providing the desired light quantity and quality depends on forming the lamp light. Lamp light, especially, can be formed by the reflectors of luminaires which are constituted for the proper purpose. General reflectors which have an important place between reflectors are designed for providing the specific luminous intensity distribution. The aim of this study is, » explaining and comparing the general reflector design methods, e determining the easiest and proper general reflector design method for the proper condition considering the angular relation on the reflector curve contour.. estabilishing the reflector properties which will provide different luminous intensity distributions. This study which is made in mentioned aim, consists of eight main chapters and an appendix. In the first chapter, the introduction topic is presented, the aim and the scope of the study is determined. In the second chapter, the definition of the luminaire is made, the reasons that play important role in the lighting systems and the characteristics of the luminaire are explained. In the third chapter, the lighting properties of the luminaire are explained in detail. In the fourth chapter, the manufacturing of the luminaire and the basic principles about the reflection and the transmission of the luminaire and the geometrical characteristics of the luminaire are mentioned. In the fifth chapter, reflector types are examined. In the sixth chapter, four different methods for general reflector design are revealed and examples of these methods are given step by step. In the seventh, chapter, all general reflector design methods are compared and evaluated by revealing the proportion of incident and reflected ray angles. In the eighth chapter, examples are made by choosing the proper method for the different conditions of the incident and reflected ray angle proportions that are examined in seventh chapter. In nineth chapter, as the conclusion, the easiest and the useful general reflector design methods for the proper conditions are established. In the appendix, supporting explanations which are developped during the study are given. Keywords: Reflector types, luminous intensity distribution, general reflector designing. xiv
