Abstract (EN)

Following to the Industrial Revolution, the increasing energy demand was met with fossil fuels giving rise to environmental problems, which enforced an agenda for generating environmental friendly energy. Moreover, the possibility of being deprived of exhaustible fossil fuels in the near future and its associated economical setbacks has accelerated the quest for new energy resources. When taken into consideration that most of energy is consumed by the built-environment, the utilization of renewable energy resources in our buildings is gaining further importance. As a result, utilizing passive climatizion methods is significant within this context. Passive climatization methods, which were frequently practiced to provide user comfort during periods well before the arrival of advance technology, were developed according to the requirements of natural environmental factors. Following the same logic, it will be possible to obtain the energy from natural sources by efficiently analysing the climatic and topographic factors. It is also possible to encounter passive energy use in the result of many years of experience and analysis of climatic data in vernacular architecture. In the same manner, it is vital to extend the usage of unexhausted energy resources in contemporary buildings, as well, in an effort to leave a cleaner world for future generations.
