Abstract (EN)

Has been known, technical and economical development affect the economic structure entirely? This development has made industrilization inevitable in the production areas where the demand was inceased. In construction sector too, especially after the World War II, the intention of having houses built fast and economically in order to rebuild ruined Europe has put the industrilization of the building sector on the agenda which led to the application of different technologies. In our country, demographic consraints, natural disasters, unmet housing needs, ect. have caused to begin the fast building construction works. In previous years, in the housing sector, the prerequisites for prefabrication were established; but because of the lack of governmental support, industrialized construction systems were used at the temporary buildings in the earthquake and disaster areas without any research on the suitabily to the socio-cultural and socio-economic structure of the region. This exercise caused "Prefabricated Housing" commutated among people as hastily put-up and temporary buldings. The idea is still widespread that prefabricated houses cannot be build more than two storey. In order to change this incorrect opinion and to call for the interest of the people, there is a need for development of appropriate technologies according to the means and conditions of the country, as well as the support provided by the state. In our contry, industrilized building production is applied mainly on one-storey industrial buildings. It can be said that quite industrilization efforts on building sector are wrongly taken steps. In general, prefabricated production was not carried out economically. The numbers of economic, fast and quailiy productions were very small. The most important reason of this general failure was that the national economic conditions had not coincided with the new industry. Most of the practices were exercised with the technologies having the license and patent of other nations. Thus, there is no chance of success for Turkey in prefabrication, if insisted on the direct transfer of these foreign license and patents without considering our country's means and conditions. It is possible to list a series of problems for industrilized building construction efforts in Turkey. First of all, Turkey is on the earthquake band, but yet, there is no regulations for prefabricated design applications and quality control. Basic problem is that, for industrialization of building production, a suitable ratio of different production elements in production process should be determined, and could be modified according to the means and conditions of the country; and also all the national resources should be utilized. This study is consisting of five chapters. In the first chapter, the historical development of the industrilized construction in Turkey was given and industrilized construction systems were examined on the basis of project criteria. In the second chapter, the necessary properties for industrilized construction technologies were determined from the point of our country's conditions. In the third chapter, suggested industrilized constructions technologies, and those which are unsuitable, were this discussed with some of their characteristics. In the fourth chapter, conditions to be set and problems be souled for the healthy development in the industrilization of construction were discussed. The fifth chapter involves the conclusions of the study.
