Abstract (EN)
The Creative Reversal Act (CREACT) is an alternative teaching technique which is developed based on the theory of the janusian process in creative thinking in the current study the social validity of CREACT in thinking skills education lesson was investigated. The purpose of CREACT is to enhance students' creative thinking and notion developing skills by using janusian thinking process. The CREACT technique consists of five steps: construction, segregation, opposition, combination, and elaboration. We used one group pre-experimental design and developed CREACT student perception scale to collect the data. The scale includes 25 substances in five point Likert form. The research participants included 307 students (15 classes) who were attending 6th, 7th, 8th grades at three Public Schools in Eskisehir, Turkey. Four lessons with each lesson having one focus concept were designed using the CREACT. These lessons were taught to students about four different abstract concepts in their thinking skills lesson. The overall study took 4 weeks and in the last lesson the scale was administered in each classroom to collect data about students' perceptions of the CREACT. One-sample t-test was used to analyze the data. The test value was set as 4 as (agreement) and the reliability of scale is found as .87. The results indicate that all of the students' perceptions and satisfactions about CREACT are positive and higher than the criteria of 4 (agreement) with most of the differences being statistically significant. Eighth graders rated the items highest compared to the other groups. Findings show strong evidence in terms of the social validity or student acceptability of the CREACT. That is the CREACT has high social validity.
