Abstract (EN)

The visual arts, which started on the cave walls, turned into an element that accompanies the foundation stones that form civilizations over time, and evolved into a state that can represent the conditions, values and perceptions of the time. Television has made it possible to share the values and beliefs of different cultures with a wide audience. As a result of this sharing, in which animations and cartoons gained popularity, as well as many TV series, movies and commercials, individuals from all age groups were offered the opportunity to watch cartoons. Equipped with innovations that serve the story and narrative structure through the technology and advanced methods used today, cartoons have begun to be accepted as one of the most interesting and evolutionary areas of art. In this research, how cartoons can be read by children is evaluated through Tinker Bell archetypes. In this direction, the aim of the research is to determine the archetypes, especially Tinker Bell, in Peter Pan (1953) and Tinker Bell (2008) cartoons and to show how these archetypes can be perceived by children. This study is also designed to help make sense of the effect of the archetypes in cartoons on the psychological development of children.
