Relationship between emotional intelligence, personality traits, organizational trust and compassion feelings in elderly care workers and attitudes towards elderly

Today, both in the world and in our country, the volume and quality of the need for institutional care of the elderly with the increase of the elderly are also increasing. This makes it necessary to carry out various studies with the elderly care workers in order to improve the quality of the elderly care service. Elderly care institutions may need some features that should be available to their employees when evaluating the existing human resource. There are organizational behavior variables that are prominent in academic literature, especially in care workers. For this reason, the relationship between emotional intelligence, personality traits, organizational trust, compassion and attitudes towards the elderly in the thesis study was investigated. The first part of this thesis study included the introduction section in order to determine the research problem, the purpose and importance of the research, the methodology of the research and the unit plan. In the second part, the concept of old age, variables in employees with emotional intelligence, five factor personality traits, compassion, organizational trust and attitudes related to elderly care are examined and the required literature survey is included. In the third part of the thesis study, organizational behavior variables and the research model, which measures the relationship between them, were used. The sample study was carried out in association with private aged care institutions employees. The analysis of this research result was carried out with the tests and interpretation of the hypotheses. In the conclusion section, the hypotheses established were validated by the data obtained and the attitudes of the employees to the institution where they work together with the effect of the existence of variables on each other were revealeted.
