Abstract (EN)

The working area is taking part in Eagean division of Eagean Region western section of Turkey and comprising Muğla and Yatağan surroundings. There are Palaeozoic, Mesozoic, Tertiary and Quaterner lands in the working area. The area is built at a tectonic catchment. The working area is examined from climate, soil and vegetation characteristics.Yatağan and its around which is include neogen sediments that inside sediment neogene coal units are increases the economical structure of area and thermic power plant was built using of these resources. There are some points to consider while building thermic power plant. These are datas of the course for winds, rainy and temperature in process of long years, among these datas should be used for the height of thermic power plant chimney and the thermic power plant must be placed acording to the master wind. Also its place should be near the coal catchment area, transportation ease and nearby reserves. Unfortunately, only coal catchment area, trasportation ease and nearby reserves were considered while building phase of Yatağan thermic power plant. The master wind of the area is north-northwest. The area indicates feature of depression. Pollutant gases of chimney caused by thermic power plant have been increasing the density of pollutant gases on the area because of happening inversion from time to time. In this case, air pollution and its negative reflection that effect human health (URTI) take from synchronously.Master wind which includes pollutant elements are closing to the south hillside of depression but don?t exceed altitude. According to this it accummulates upon Bencik, Sepetçi and Bağyaka. These stations caused soot of central red pine (pinus brutia) in the area that has been mentioned. The pollutant which is flowing out to the atmosphere from the thermic power plant chimney and also its dwell on search subject is SO2 and particul element. As a result of truth that the unfruitful years did not show proportionality with the rainfall values, pinus brutias are negative influenced by SO2 gases.According to results of points that paradigm taken from studying area, when increasing of SO2 gases, red pine exposed of decreasing acceleration. This situation did not show proportionality with rainfall value. As a result pinus brutias are negative influenced by SO2 gases.Human metabolism is also negative influenced by thermic power plant chimney gases. A relation which is between the number of sick person and particular element are being observed. Owing to increasing of the particular elements causes increasing the number sick person. This means there is a negative corelation between SO2 and particular element. SO2 gases are taken with breath and causing the breath system illness. This study has shown that while choosing where to build a power plant; being careful to place the power plant at a point that would not have negative effect to the nerby area must be considered as an important criteria as being nearby coal catchment area and reserves. While happenning inversion, depression sets have always been a risk related with air pollution. The thermic power plants must be built with modern systems, not to effect human health and naturel environment. People must be informed of environment consciousness, also environmental education should be emphasized.
