Abstract (EN)

Abū ʿUmar Ḥafṣ b. ʿUmar b. ʿAbdülʿazīz al-Azdī al-Dūrī al-Bag̲h̲dādī is a very important figure in terms of the science of recitation, as he is one of the famous narrators of Abū ʿAmr and al-Kisāʾī, the imāms of the seven recitations. In this study, the narrations of al-Dūrī from Abū ʿAmr b. al-ʿAlāʾ and ʿAlī b. Ḥamza al-Kisāʾī and the differences in the narration of Ḥafṣ b. Sulaimān, one of the famous narrators of ʿĀṣim b. Bahdala, were compared and discussed in terms of the relationship between recitation and meaning. The study consists of three sections. In the first section, the definition of the science of recitation, the status of recitations in terms of validity-custom-procedure, and brief information about the lives of recitation imams and narrators are given. In the second section, the lives and scientific developments of Abū ʿAmr, al-Kisāʾī and al-Dūrī are covered in detail. In the third section, firstly, the issues of uṣūl, one of the two basic subjects of the science of recitation, are discussed, then, the differences in the farsh of al-Dūrī's narrations from Abū ʿAmr and al-Kisāʾī and the Ḥafṣ's narration from ʿĀṣim's recitation are compared and discussed in terms of the recitation-meaning context.
