The research about the influence of activities on second class students in secondary school

ABSTRACT The effect of activities concerned with pressure concept at a degree of second class in secondary school was researched with this project. For this aim, to teach pressure of solid, liquid and gas with curriculum purposes, activities were designed using materrials which could easily find arround the students' living area. It was formed exprimental and controll groups with 30 students for this experimentel researched. Both group was examined with pressure examination questions to taste the success level. The same subject was taught to the groups by the teacher the first time. While teaching the concepts to the experiemental group, new metods and technics were used. But traditional metods were used while teaching the concept to the control group. At the end of unit both groups were examined with the same questions, but this time a meaningful difference was found between both two groups. While the sucsess level was 52.40 in the experimental group, the control group's level was 30.93. Here are the results: 1. The experiements and activities that students perfomed using the environemental equipments increase the motivation of students in the lessons. There isn't any meaningful increase in the lessons that use traditional methods and technics. 2. Teachers and students find the materials arround the school easily and cheaply. The students are becoming more accompanied with science knowledge selecting the materials arround the living area. 3.The science concepts learned in constructivist way have been longer than general methods in memory. The concepts belong to simple activities in science are taught better than general believence.4. Science education that is rich in activities and which student find its relevance with puplic and every day life motivates the students and the lessons don't become boring. At the end it was concluded that Constructivist model is a useful metod for the stability of knovledge and performing the experiements in an enough time. So it's realized that in the future there will be a public with the person who has self confidence.
