Abstract (EN)

The research aims to examine the seventh-grade Turkish Course Curriculum (2019) outcomes and the seventh-grade textbook of the Ministry of National Education Publications, which will be taught in 2022-2023, in terms of 21st-century skills. In the study, the seventh-grade outcomes and the themes in the textbook were analyzed and evaluated according to their relationship with 21st-century skills. In this research, the documents were analyzed with the descriptive analysis technique using document review, one of the qualitative research types. The documents of the study consist of the seventh-grade outcomes of the Turkish course curriculum and the themes in the seventh-grade Turkish textbook. According to the research findings, it was concluded that 21st-century skills were given more space in the reading outcome area of the seventh-grade Turkish course curriculum, while less space was given in the writing outcome area. In the study, it was determined that 21st-century skills were more related to the achievements in the comprehension skill area. The 21st-century skill area most included in the 7th-grade achievements was determined as life and career, learning and innovation skills. It was concluded that the skill most related to the achievements was communication and cooperation skills. Information, media and technology skills, which are among the 21st century skill areas, were found to be the skill area least related to the outcomes. The areas that the themes were most related to were life and career and learning and innovation skills, while the areas that they were least related to were information, media and technology skills. When the results were examined, it was seen that information, media and technology skills were given little place in the seventh grade Turkish course. Although 21st century skills were included in the seventh grade Turkish course outcomes and themes in the textbook, it was determined that there was no balanced distribution.
