Abstract (EN)

It is well known in the literature that the tetradentate N2O2-type Schiff base metal complexes have very wide application area and stable structures. In this study, Co(II) and Mn(III) complexes of asymmetric Schiff bases which were prepared by condensation of salicylaldehyde derivatives with o-phenylenediamine as an aromatic diamine were synthesized. The synthesized metal complexes of asymmetric Schiff bases were immobilized onto 3-aminopropylethoxysilane functionalized silica gel as a solid support by coordinative bonds. Elemental analysis (C,H,N), FT-IR, UV-Vis , X-Ray, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR techniques were used for the characterization of the synthesized ligands (N2O2-type Schiff bases). The prepared Co(II) and Mn(III) complexes of asymmetric Schiff Bases (salophen derivatives) were characterized by AAS, melting point, magnetic susceptibility, FT-IR, and UV-vis methods. The structural analyses of the immobilized metal complexes onto inorganic support (aminopropylethoxysilane functionalized silica gel) were performed by AAS, FT-IR and DR-UV-Vis techniques. Thermal properties of the compounds were studied by TG-DTA techniques.
