A new approach on highway traffic estimation: WIM example

This study has been carried out related to a new integrated or co-integratedestimation approach. The approach has three main procedures named as?prediction?, ?elimination? and ?aranging limits?. Traffic data and relatedprocedures have been studied for detailed periods of time: hour, day, week(weekday, weekend and all week) and month. On developing and testing theapproach, data collected at WIM stations have been used. Compact approachhave been developed using different methods on data analyses, estimationprocedures for different time periods. Success of the approach has beenevaluated using collected data and the estimations of those data as unknown.
