Abstract (EN)

This research has been carried out on the new secondary education mathematics curriculum in order to reveal mathematics teachers? views about the multiple intelligences theory, to identify the deficiencies in the application and to offer proposed solutions about the use of multiple intelligence applications throughout the process of mathematics education in the light of high school teachers? thoughts. Therefore; In this study, the survey model which is one of the quantitative research methods was used and the literature about this subject was seeked while writing the theoretical field.The sample of the research consists of 183 teachers (47 females and 136 males) who work in the high schools within the center of Malatya in 2011-2012 academic year. A questionnaire which has three options was used to gather data. There are 28 items in the questionnaire, 3 of which are about personal data and 25 of which are about the research?s sub-problems.A computer package software was used in the process of statistical analysis and percentage and frequency calculations were applied to have descriptive statistical analysis about the personal data of the teachers. Then, the results were given in a chart and interpreted. Chi-square test was used to search if there was a significant relation between the teacher?s answers to items and their ?gender, vocational seniority, graduated faculty?. Then, the results were given in the charts and interpreted.The outcome of the research indicates that teachers have positive attitudes toward the multiple intelligence applications based on the new mathematics curriculum but they have experienced some sort of difficulties during the education process.In addition, teachers believe that this method will be even more efficient with in-service education and regulations on school facilities. In the ?conclusions and recommendations? part of the work, some sorts of proposals were put forward in the light of these views.
