Abstract (EN)
Wide spectrum antifungal agents such as imidasole and triazole derivativeantifungal agents are still widely in use today. Main aim of the new drug design studies isto creat the most proper ?single? agent carrying necessary chemical substructures, together which breaks multiple drug resistance that can be used to cure patients in placeof multiple drug use. Set of new generation compounds has been syntheticallysynthesized (named shortly Tp1-Tp12) bearing both triazole and pyrazoline structureswhich have been widely used for their antifungal and antibacterial activities, respectively.Determination of either antibacterial / antifungal activities and toxicity levels of thesenewly synthesized compounds by using microdilution broth assay and brine-shrimptoxicity assay are the research goal for this thesis. Antifungal activity of this twelvesynthetic compounds has been investigated against seven different fungi with MIC assay. All of the derivatives showed equal or better antifungal activity when compared withpositive control drugs ketaconazole and fluconazole. Microdilution broth assay made forfive different bacteria showed that none of the derivatives were more active then thecontrol drug chloramphenicole as they were equal with the control drug. According tobrine shrimp toxicity test applied for 12 compounds show that first six derivatives (Tp1-Tp6) are harmful while the others (Tp7-Tp12) are non-toxic. Tp8 is the most activecompound among the others and it belongs to the non toxic group of the compounds atthe same time. Result of this study suggests additional biologic activity tests needed forall compounds in order to determine the further drug potentialities of these compounds. Keywords: Toxicity, Triazole, Pyrazoline, Antifungal, Antibacterial
