Abstract (EN)

In this study, eight different newly synthesized Chiral Ru(II)-Phosphinite complexes were divided into two groups and their antioxidant, antimicrobial and DNA binding activities were tested. In order to determine the antioxidant activities of the synthesis complexes; DPPH free radical scavenging, metal chelating and iron reducing power analyzes were performed. F1RuPS (90.93±0.98%) and F3RuPS (86.74±1.25%) exhibited the highest radical scavenging activity at 200.0 mg L-1 concentration. F1RuPS (65.45%±1.46%) and F4RuPS (60.62±1.96%) complexes showed the highest metal chelating activity. It was observed that the complexes with the best reducing power activity were F1RuPS and F3RuPS. Antimicrobial activities of the complexes were tested by agar disc diffusion method using two Gram (+) and two Gram (-) bacteria. It was observed that chiral Ru(II)-Phosphinite complexes formed an inhibition zone in the range of 8-21 mm in Gram (+) bacteria and between 10-19 mm in Gram (-) bacteria. It was determined that F3RuB (21 mm) had a good antimicrobial effect on E. hirae gram (+) bacteria. Agarose gel electrophoresis method was used to determine the DNA binding activities of the synthesis complexes. Calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was used to determine DNA binding activity. Different levels of DNA binding activity were detected in all of the complexes. It was determined that the F4RuPS complex showed the highest binding activity.
