Local government units impact on cultural integration; a study on "Union of Turkish World Municipalites"

Turkish republics that declard indepence after the dissolution of the soviet union, adhered a processs of statification and institutionalization were supported by Republic of Turkey in many different fielas. In this thesis, Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) which was established by the council of ministers in 2003 in order the support the newly established Turkis States by means of local administrations and to make then meet all requirenents of the era, has been studied involving its educational, cultural social movenents. In the second part of the thesis, the needs of the establishment of municipal unions were studied with examples from regional, national and international unions of local municipalities. In the third part of the thesis, nation of consolidations was studied by examples from existing studies of integrations. These examples aimed to create a concrete schema of consolidations and an attenpt the measure and considerate the affects of the local government unions.
