The effect of local government employees perception of organizational trust on whistleblowing behavior: Tokat/Erbaa Municipality example

There are many factors that affect employee performance in business life. The most important element in question is the perception of organizational trust. Employees' perception of organizational trust positively affects both performance and attitudes towards the organization. Therefore, providing an environment of trust in the organization is an important issue. Because employee performance and employees' attitudes towards the organization also affect organizational efficiency. Another issue that is important in achieving organizational success is "whistleblowing". Thanks to whistleblowing, it becomes possible to eliminate the deficiencies seen in the organization. Whistleblowing, especially for the benefit of the organization, contributes to a healthier organizational culture. This study aimed to examine the effect of organizational trust perception on employees' whistleblowing behavior. At the end of the research, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the perception of organizational trust and whistleblowing behavior (p<0.05). In addition, it was observed that the perception of organizational trust significantly affected whistleblowing behavior (p <0.05). It was determined that employees' perceptions of organizational trust differed significantly according to gender, age group, income level and working time variables (p<0.05). In addition, it was determined that employees' whistleblowing situations differed significantly according to gender, marital status, age group, education level, income level, working time and professional status variables (p <0.05). As a result, it can be said that employees' perceptions of organizational trust are decisive on whistleblowing behavior
