Examining the relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational justice perceptions of coaches working in local governments

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between organizational cynicism and perceptions of organizational justice among coaches working in local governments. The population of the study comprises coaches serving in local government in the districts of Başakşehir, Silivri, and Büyükçekmece in the Istanbul province. The study's sample includes a total of 160 coaches, consisting of 98 females and 62 males, who are engaged in local government roles in these districts. In the study, the "Organizational Cynicism Scale" adapted to Turkish by Kalağan (2009) and the "Organizational Justice Scale" developed by Niehoff and Moorman (1993), adapted to Turkish by Polat (2007), were used. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS 25 program. Descriptive statistical data were calculated for the analysis of the data. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to determine the relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational justice. Independent Sample T-test was used for the analysis of differences between two groups, and in cases involving more than two variables, the One-Way ANOVA test was employed. In the case of differences in the ANOVA test, differences were calculated using the Tukey test, taking into account the assumption of homogeneity of variances. As a result of the analyses conducted, a significant negative relationship was found between organizational cynicism and perceptions of organizational justice among coaches working in local governments. However, no significant differences were found based on gender, age, professional seniority, and duration of employment in the organization.
