Abstract (EN)
In this study experiments and test results were presented on low amount of soda containing reactive alumina production from metallurgical quality calcined alumina and gibbsite produced at Seydişehir (Konya) Aluminum Plant.Experimental studies consist of two steps. In the first step, characterization of Seydişehir metallurgical quality calcined alumina was made and then production of low amount of soda containing reactive alumina from calcined alumina was investigated. In the second step, calcination (1250 °C, 25 °C /min. 1hour) of different amounts of boric acid added (0.5, 1 and 1.5 % respectively) Seydişehir gibbsite, minimizing its soda amount and production of low amount of soda containing reactive alumina and its characterization studies were carried out.At the end of the study; it is possible from technical point of wiev to produce low amount of soda containing reactive alumina from Seydişehir calcined alumina and from Seydişehir gibbsite. With the increasing boric acid addition it is possible to minimize the Na2O % content of reactive alumina.
