An investigation of Turkish cinema during the Yeşilçam era through the producer, distributor and operating system and "Building Blocks of Green Glass" documentary film (1960-1970)

It can be said that Turkish cinema covers many periods, when we look at Turkish history. One of the most influential of these periods is the Yeşilçam period. The Yeşilçam period, which first emerged in the 1950s, caused Turkish cinema to experience its golden age until 1980. Turkish cinema experienced its golden age during the Yeşilçam period. During this period, unforgettable films were shot and unforgettable actors were born. At this point, not only talented actors and directors played a role behind Yeşilçam's success. It can also be said that producers, distributors and the operating system also play an important role in Yeşilçam. Producers are the backbone of the film industry. A series of decisions are made by the producers, such as financing the film project, selecting the cast, arranging the shooting etcetera. Distributors are served as an important bridge that enabled the films to meet the audience. There are stages such as film production, shooting processes, post-production and distribution in Yeşilçam's operating system. Examining the Yeşilçam period through producer, distributor and operating system will make many contributions. Thanks to these contributions, the complexity and achievements of the cinema industry of the period will be better understood. Therefore, it is thought that this study will contribute to the literature. In this context, in the first part of the study, the golden age of Yeşilçam in the 1960s and 1970s and the position of cinema were discussed, and in the second part, the distribution model of the Yeşilçam period and the position of the producers were evaluated.
