Abstract (EN)

Yeşilüzümlü Town is located at 17 km away from Fethiye town center of Muğla province and it is on the foot of the Mountain Geyran. It has altitude 500 m above sea level and is situated on a plain. Settlement is located 9 km north of the Cadyanda which is the ancient city has history extending from 3000 BC and it took place within the boundaries of Lycian State in the ancient period. However, cultural heritage structures which are standing within the boundaries of the settlement today are belonging to Seljuk, Ottoman and early Republican period.In this study, by analyzing the region's history, physical and social data, the pattern of traditional settlement boundries of the town which is required to be conserved has been determined. As a result of the analysis and determination for each structure in the study area, the region's traditional architecture has been introduced. Conservation problems appeared by the structures which can?t suffice the daily living conditions in area and conservation suggestions have been advanced with considering physical and social traditional qualifications. Made suggestions to conserve and rehabilitate of the existing settlement pattern besides for new construction conditions, tried to define the basic approaches.The main reason of this study, to identify factors of the traditional cultural heritage which creates unique character of the settlement and although they are aimed to add values to the contemporary life while these values represent settlement.Key words: Yeşilüzümlü, settlement pattern, stone buildings, Cadyanda, traditional architecture, conservation, cultural heritage.
