Abstract (EN)
Nutritional literacy has an important role in the continuity of health and wellbeing at the same time it can also contribute to a better quality of life. This study was conducted as a descriptive study in order to determine the relationship between nutritional literacy status and quality of life in adult individuals. This study was carried out with 306 women, 124 men in total 430 individuals who were followed up in the diet policlinic of Kütahya Health Science University Evliya Celebi Training and Research Hospital and became volunteer to participate in the research. Data of this study were collected using a the questionnaire form prepared by the researcher, Evaluation Instrument of Nutrition Literacy on Adults and Europe Health Impact Scale. The data obtained from the participants were analyzed using necessary statistical methods. It was determined that 59.8% of the participants had a sufficient nutritional literacy level. A negative and significant relationship was found between the age and body mass index of subjects and Evaluation Instrument of Nutrition Literacy on Adults scores (r = -0.453, p <0.01; r = -0.394, p <0.01). It was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the Evaluation Instrument of Nutrition Literacy on Adults and Europe Health Impact Scale total scores of participants (r=0.166, p<0.01). It is thought that the nutritional literacy levels of individuals in the society should be increased. The fact that individuals are nutritional literate can also positively affect their quality of life. For this purpose, it is recommended to plan of nutrition trainings for the community.
