Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to focus on the relationship of the adults' commitment styles with the romantic relations and personality. 120 persons participating in this study are living in Istanbul and are among the age of 18 and 65. As a tool of collecting data, Experience in Close Relationships Inventory-II is used for measuring commitment styles of the participants, Relationship Satisfaction Scale is utilised for getting the ideas about the satisfaction levels of the participants from their romantic relations and Basic Personality Traits Scale is used for defining personality traits of the participants. Besides, a Personal Information Form is also used in order to determine sociodemographic features of the participants of the research. The data collected are analysed by means of the SPSS programme. According to the data reached in the scope of the study, there is a negative sided correlation between the scores of preoccupation and avoidance in commitment on the one hand, and the scores in the relationship satisfaction scale on the other hand. In addition, a positive sided correlation is found between the negative value dimensions of the personality and commitment dimensions. At the end of the study, some recommendations are provided for researchers on the basis of the results reached at the end of the data analysis.
