Abstract (EN)
This study examines the level of mindfulness of adults and the predictive level of psychological well-being of parental attachment styles. Furthermore, the differences in individuals' mindfulness, parental attachment styles and psychological well-being level according to gender, age, education, occupation, income, marital status, duration of marriage, having children, maternal education level, paternal education level, number of siblings, whether mother is alive or not, whether father is alive or not, and parents married/divorced situations are examined. A relational screening model was used in the study. The sample of the study consists of 601 volunteer adults aged 20-60 years living in the Mediterranean region, which were selected by the purposeful sampling method. Personal Information Form, Mindfulness Awareness Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale (PERMA), and Parental Attachment Scale were used as data collection tools. The results of the study showed that there is a positive significant relationship between mindfulness and psychological well-being. Mindfulness predicts 23.1% of the variance in psychological well-being. Mindfulness is a significant and positive predictor of all sub-dimensions of psychological well- being. On the other hand, a negative significant correlation was found between mindfulness and maternal control/overprotection. Moreover, a positive correlation was determined between both maternal and paternal care levels and psychological well- being. It was observed that attachment to the mother explained 5.1% of the variance in psychological well-being. Maternal control/overprotection dimension was found to be a negative and significant predictor of negative emotions dimension of psychological well-being. Attachment to the father explains 3.2% of the variance in psychological well-being. Father care dimension is a positive and significant predictor of positive emotions, attachment, relationships, meaning and achievement dimensions of psychological well-being. In addition, attachment to the mother is a significant predictor of mindfulness and it was found to explain 5.4% of the variance in mindfulness. While mother care dimension predicts mindfulness positively and significantly, mother control/overprotection dimension negatively and significantly predicts mindfulness.
