Yıldız Palace aide - de - camp House

Yıldız Palace was the last palace location in Ottoman Empire which had some differences from other palaces in the same century period. The reason of both constitution time till today, the buildings which had many architectural functions and the principles of preservation, have to make us to take real care about the whole buildings in Yıldız Palace. The buildings which were used by the noble family, were certainly the most important parts in the whole complex. Some buildings which had service functions in the place, had less value in the whole. The main saubject of this thesis is, one of the building which had the service function, called "Aide-de-camp House" In the introduction part of this study, readers are given some information about the ways that have been followed so far and knowledge. Through this information, in the second part of this study, in order to estimate the construction time of this building which was built in 1900, the other Istanbul Palaces and the period in the Otoman Empire were narrated. In the third part, historical, architectural, and geographical characteristics of the complex which Aide-de-camp House was placed, were also discussed. In the fourth part, present situation analyse of the building was narrated by using the scientific methods. Some commentaries which were the results of the research and the determinations by observing the building also placed in this part. In whole this study, according to the principles of preservation, a restoration project was made. In the fifth part, the evaluation of the study and the information about the results of the study were given.
