Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine the emotional intelligence and leadership traits levels of the managers and to examine the effect of emotional intelligence on leadership traits. The research population consists of managers working in the Isparta Organized Industrial Zone. Through convenience sampling, 163 individuals were reached within the scope of the research. The Emotional Intelligence Scale, whose Turkish validity and reliability analysis was conducted by Deniz (2012), and the Leadership Characteristics Scale developed by Aykan (2004) were used. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 22 software package. The relationships between variables and statements were examined using t-tests, ANOVA, correlation, and regression analysis. According to the research results, a significant correlation was identified between emotional intelligence and leadership characteristics, as well as their sub-dimensions. The regression analysis conducted to explore the possible determinant effect of emotional intelligence on leadership characteristics revealed that emotional intelligence is a significant determinant of leadership characteristics, including democratic leadership characteristics, managerial leadership characteristics, leadership characteristics related to delegation of authority, laissez-faire leadership characteristics, and charismatic leadership characteristics.
