Structural problems, material information and typological examination of the restoration of the yozgat başçavuş bathhouse

Yozgat Başçavuş Bath, which has a history of approximately 200 years, is an important immovable cultural heritage reflecting the characteristics of the Ottoman Period bath architecture. The aim of this study is to examine the structural problems, the types of materials used and the typological characteristics of the baths in spatial planning for the restoration of the Başçavuş Bath, which has been idle for a long time and faces the risk of collapse, and to develop suggestions for itsrestoration, conservation and sustainability. In the first part of the thesis; the purpose, importance, research questions and limitations of the research are explained. In the second part; information about the bath and its history, spatial typology, structural and materials of Ottoman baths are given. Then, the problems related to the environmental, spatial, structural damage and material deterioration of the sample area Başçavuş Hamam were identified and evaluated, and as a result of the analyses of the data obtained, intervention suggestions related to structural problems were presented. Detailed survey drawings and explanatory tables were prepared for the sample bath. In the explanatory tables, the survey drawings of the analysed spaces, identified problems, intervention methods and recommendations are given. In the conclusion section, a general summary of the results obtained and conservation and repair suggestions are presented.
