Database design and implementation for postgraduate pre-admission automation system

In this study, data layer of a system that is going to be used for postgraduate pre admissions, is designed and substantiated. The database developed, can easily communicate with a business layer that has been developed in accordance with three tired architecture foundations. Data models and database programs examined, relational database model has been chosen as the most convenient model in such a web based study and MySQL has been chosen as the most suitable database server software for this model, in the study, respectively. System architecture and entity relationship diagrams have been designed. Database has been created with the help of these diagrams and tested carefully.Registration process begins with a super user defining system parameters and user authorizations on system modules. Then candidate students make their registrations between permitted dates. After registration period ends, authorized users add student grades into the system, super user declares the results after evaluating the grades and the process ends. Declared outcome data archived via removing to report tables. Candidate students can learn their grades logging in the system after declaration. It is forbidden to make changes on grades after declaration.
