Abstract (EN)
The study was carried out in Private Bahşiş District, where melon cultivation is intensively done under tunnel greenhouse conditions in Tarsus district of Mersin province. The Balkovan melon variety, which is widely grown in the region, was tested with three different boron (B) application methods. Boron application methods were made as a combination of soil, foliar and soil + foliar B applications. When the data obtained from the study were evaluated statistically, in the melon plant of different B application methods; It was determined that there was no effect on fruit yield, fruit weight, fruit height, fruit diameter, fruit flesh thickness, core house height, core house diameter, water soluble dry matter yield (SSC). On the other hand, it was determined that the most significant statistically significant difference on the bark thickness, which is one of the pomological features, compared to the control application, emerged in the soil+leaf application. It has been determined that B applications made from soil and leaves significantly increase the amount of pollen production. It has been observed that different B application methods increase the fruit pulp, fruit peel and fruit seed B concentrations in high tunnel conditions. The average B concentration independent of different B treatments was determined as 20.0 mg kg-1 in fruit flesh, 37.1 mg kg-1 in fruit peel and 6.7 mg kg-1 in fruit seed. It was determined that different B application methods increased the fruit pulp B concentration by 39%, 58% and 52%, respectively, with soil, leaf and soil+leaf B applications compared to the control application. It was determined that the increase in the fruit peel B concentration was 24%, 33% and 14%, respectively, with the soil, leaf and soil + foliar B application methods compared to the control application. The effect of different B application methods on fruit seed B concentration was increased by 38%, 29% and 31%, respectively, with soil, foliar and soil+foliar B applications compared to the control application.
