Student's opinions on the delivery of Ataturk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution in higher education (Example of Kastamonu Üniversity)

In this study, it was tried to evaluate the opinions effect of giving Atatürk Principles and History of Turkish Revolution course as distance education to the high education according to the students' opinions. The aim of the research is to determine the opinions of the students who took the course of Atatürk's Principles and History of Turkish Revolution through distance education about the course and the way of course. The research tool of survey, which were used as data collection tools, were applied to 369 undergraduate and associated students at Kastamonu University in 2018-2019 academic year. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program was used to analyse the data obtained from the application of the research tool. Arithmetic mean and standard deviation were used to analyses the data. Significance level was taken as 0.05 when determining differences according to gender. Considering the results of the research, the interest level of the students who took the AİİT course via distance education is high; however, their views on the way the lecture was delivered in a negative level. The majority of students want the lesson to be given in the form of face-to-face education due to the sound system, connection problem and other reasons that can occur. The students are in the opinion of not enough connection required to participate in the course is not sufficient. In addition to this, among the problems of students related to the course can be; problematical situations such as not being able to communicate adequately with the lecturer inside the upcoming lesson, interruption of the connection during the lesson, method of the lesson, and the questions explained incorrectly in the lesson. Problems based on the online education system of us during the online course follows regularly. Also, this lessons are really having a great importance which they have sufficiently related to the republic of Turkey. According to students, education which is given in online classroom, distance education reported as less useful than the normal courses happen in their school.
