Abstract (EN)
In this study, optimization of chemical treatment of wool washing waste water of textile industry and treatment plant design were studied. In the content of this waste water; there are less biodegradable wool grease, lanolin, which is more biodegradable than grease, various dirt and chemicals used during washing. As a result of the researches, it has been observed that the best removal efficiency in the terms of cost, time and environment is realized with the coagulation – flocculation process. Jar tests were performed for the selection of the most appropriate coagulant and flocculant and it was found as aluminum sulphate (Al₂(SO₄)₃) and cationic polymer, respectively. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used for optimization. The design parameters of this methodology were determined as the required coagulant and flocculant dosage and pH for sedimentation. Response parameters that design parameters will affect; chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total suspended solids (TSS). Optimum conditions as a result of quadratic models developed; The amount of 1299,2 ppm aluminum sulphate and 12,6 ppm flocculant were found at pH 7,45. Removal efficiencies under these conditions were found to be 92,36% COD and 94,11% TSS. A wastewater treatment plant was designed considering the optimization and discharge standards. Chemical and biological treatment is used in the plant. Long aerated activated sludge process has been preferred as a biological treatment method. Cost analysis has been made depending on the design. Cost per unit of waste water was found to be 14,7 Turkish Liras.
