Abstract (EN)

A total of 30 male freestyle swimmers (15 control and 15 experimental groups) were included in this study. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of 12-week plyometric training on isokinetic lower extremity strength and exit and return performance. Thirty active swimmers residing in Istanbul province, who had competed in the Turkish Championships in the last 3 years and over 15 years of age, 15 Control and 15 Experimental swimmers participated in the study. Repeated Measure Anova test was applied to the data obtained from the study. The significance level of the data was determined as p < 0.05 and analyzes were performed with SPSS 24.0 program. It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in concentric maximum RFD, concentric mean force and concentric peak force values in the pre-test and post-test concentric phase measurements of the vertical jump, while there was no significant difference in all other data. When the eccentric phase phase values were analyzed, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the eccentric peak power value, but there was no significant difference in all other data. When the vertical jump asymmetric values were examined, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test concentric mean force asymmetry LR, concentric peak force asymmetry LR and peak landing force asymmetry LR values within the group, but there was no significant difference in all other data. When knee isokinetic 60 s strength values were examined, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test BW peak torque NM 60 s extensor R, peak torque NM 60 s flexor R, peak torque NM 60 s extensor L, BW peak torque NM 60 s extensor L and peak torque NM 60 s flexor L values within the group, while there was no significant difference in all other data. When the knee isokinetic 180 s strength values were examined, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test BW peak torque NM 180 s extensor L and peak torque NM 180 s flexor L values within the group, but there was no significant difference in all other data. When hip isokinetic 60 s strength values were examined, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in pre-test and post-test peak torque NM 60 s extensor R, peak torque NM 60 s flexor R, peak torque NM 60 s extensor L, BW peak torque NM 60 s extensor L and peak torque NM 60 s flexor L values within the group, but there was no significant difference in all other data. When the hip isokinetic 180 s strength values were examined, it was found that there were statistically significant differences in the pre-test and post-test peak torque NM 180 s extensor R, BW peak torque NM 180 s extensor R, peak torque NM 180 s flexor R, BW peak torque NM 180 s flexor R, peak torque NM 180 s extensor L, It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in BW peak torque NM 180 sec extensor L, peak torque NM 180 sec flexor L and BW peak torque NM 180 sec flexor L values, while there was no significant difference in all other data. When the flexibility values were examined, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test extension R and extension L values within the group, while there was no significant difference in all other data. Finally, in the branch-specific performance values, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the pre-test and post-test wall foot contact difference, last 20 m time and total 50 m time values within the group, while there was no significant difference in all other data. It can be said that plyometric training, which is a land training, has a positive effect on the performance development and development of swimmers in different parameters.
